Alexander B.
(Alex) Miles,
Managing Partner
Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Miles is Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Kingfisher Capital. Mr. Miles is responsible for directing investment strategy for the firm and oversees the firm’s investment committee. Mr. Miles also serves as Portfolio Manager for the firm’s various separate account strategies and investment funds. Mr. Miles has also served as manager for alternative investment funds with a focus on water, sustainability and the water-energy-agriculture nexus.
While at our predecessor firm WealthTrust Advisors, Mr. Miles served as Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager, managing investment strategy for the Charlotte office and certain alternative investment funds. He also managed portfolios at James M. Myers Research, Inc. and served as director of marketing for the Myers Limited Partnerships, consisting of three long-short investment partnerships.
Mr. Miles received his M.B.A from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During graduate school, he worked to develop an internal hedged equity product for high net worth and institutional clients for Lehman Brothers in New York. Prior to graduate school, he served as tournament operations and marketing manager for The PGA Tour, Inc. in Ponte Vedra, Florida. Mr. Miles was educated at Colgate University and earned a B.A. from Emory University. He graduated from The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut. Mr. Miles is active in the Charlotte community including through the Charlotte Latin School and Queens University of Charlotte. |
